The Journey (Hunter Returns):

This is a story-based journey mode which was first time introduced in the FIFA 17 edition and has now been continued to be featured in this edition as well under the title The Journey: Hunter Returns. If a player has played FIFA 17 and ended the journey mode in it, the story will continue from where it ended in the 17 edition, hence titled Hunter Returns. There are quite a lot of updates in the FIFA 18 journey mode where new locations have been unlocked e.g. United States and Brazil. A lot of famous and widely known players like Cristiano Ronaldo and Antoine Griezmann make appearances in the story. The story mode also unveils a new character, Kim Hunter, who is Alex Hunters half-sister.

The facial graphics of the players Forest Green Rovers Team were captured for the game and it is the first time a club outside the Europe’s Top Leagues have been chosen for this. The reason behind this was the promotion of the Forest Green Rovers Team to the Football league after 128 years.

Building on its predecessor, FIFA 17, this year the franchise (EA Sports) has made a lot of improvements necessary in the game. Since the release of FIFA 15, this football simulation game series has been in the decline, with slow gameplay and game graphics. They did not acknowledge the growth in the technology and ignored various evolving aspect of gaming industry. But with the release of FIFA 18, it can be confidently said that the franchise has started its recovery path for the FIFA series. One of the contributing factors for this revival can be the introduction of the game to Frostbite Engine 3 which has improved the game dynamics and made the graphics so more realistic.
The football game modes have not been completely changed as compared to FIFA 17, but the work done by EA Sports in the second season of The Journey mode really stands out. The young star Alex Hunter returned in his second season with an all-star cast of players containing renowned football stars such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Antoine Griezmann and Thierry Henry, as Alex has to make tough choices to further grow his career. Due to the addition of more locations like Brazil and Los Angeles, you’ll be journeying into an emotion filled story of a budding future football star. Another very interesting feature is that you can totally personalize the character of Alex Hunter with hair styles, body tattoo’s and his game-play style. You can also play the short story-lines of two other characters added in this edition’s journey mode, Kim Hunter and Danny Williams. Kim Hunter is the half-sister of Alex Hunter of whom he learns about when he travels to the United States, who is also a women football star who plays for the US women football team and Danny Williams is Alex Hunters best-friend whose story you can opt to play for reviving his career or focusing solely on Alex’s story.
The FIFA 18 World Cup Update is awesome. That almost seems silly to say given it’s relatively obvious, but it’s only fair to underline that fact as directly as possible so anyone excited about this summer’s tournament can also get ready for a solid digital version as well. While it has the exact foundations you’d expect, said foundations do a very good job. Sometimes keeping things simple is the way to go. The most joyous news of all is that this is free and a lot of World Cup information, stats and players become available to you should you want to lose yourself in the competition. If you’re wondering how this is possible, the real reason, if we’re being honest, is Ultimate Team which also gets new coat of paint.
FIFA has always put demonstration and legitimacy over its dedication to realism, and FIFA 18 continues in that fashion. The subtle presentation of the game is a fact, but FIFA 18 also excels at picking up the importance of big league games. EA Sports has also outdone itself in capturing the fine details such as signature celebrations of famous players and the gameplay of star players like Ronaldo and Neymar Jr. The realistic and majestic stadiums combined with the almost to real facial graphics of the players, and the smoothness of movement when skilled players like Messi, Isco or David Silva move with the ball is mind-blowing. You have to applaud the lighting adaptations, attention grasping commentary of Martin Tyler and Alan Smith and the changing football pitch as the match goes on. Moreover, the addition of quick substitutions during the game when the ball goes out of play really helps the flow of the game. Combine all these factors and there is no question FIFA 18 is the best looking football game up till 2017.
